Hello My Dears,
I thought I would open my first fashion post by giving you all an idea of what I personally believe is good style. Modesty should always be the most important elements when composing an outfit. Why modesty, you ask? It is because understanding you limitations when it comes to clothing is tantamount to avoiding cliches and fashion phopauxs. You want to look great, stand out in a crowd, but not over done. There are four primary kinds of fashionistas in the world that I will classify by using areas of my city. In Houston there are Midtown girls, Downtown/ RiverOaks girls, and Montrose girls. I created collages for each of the specific styles bellow. Each of their styles are different and unique, but carry elements of the others within them. Most importantly though, the styles are simple. Fashion should be fun and spontaneous, yet have an aesthetic. The minuet you find that you are "trying" is when you know something is wrong. Someone once said to me "one should never have to "try" to be fabulous". At the time I didn't understand what she met. I mean you have to pick out an outfit. Colors have to correspond. Patterns must match, and accessories must make sense. All of these things take a great deal of effort. So how could you possible not be trying? The answer is actually a little complicated lol. You will have to try, yes, but to others it must seem effortless. Style icons like Solange and Cara Delevigne seem to have an effortless style. These ladies seem as if they woke up like that. We know that they didn't, but they
look like they did. Classic style embodies this concept. If you're a beginner, as I was, it will seem daunting. Just remember it's an expression of who you are, so live love it, and don't forget to have fun !
